HVAC Installation & Planning
Efficient climate control solutions—by Waterhouse Renovations Inc.
Planning & Design:
Assess the environment: Evaluate building size, insulation levels, ventilation needs, and climate zone to determine appropriate system type and capacity.
Select HVAC system type: Choose between central air systems, ductless mini-splits, heat pumps, or furnaces based on building use and energy efficiency goals.
Ductwork & layout planning: Design optimal duct routes and vent placements for even air distribution, noise reduction, and minimal energy loss.
Energy efficiency strategy: Incorporate programmable thermostats, zoning systems, and ENERGY STAR-rated units to reduce long-term utility costs.
Preparation:
Material & equipment delivery: Order HVAC units, ducts, vents, piping, insulation, and accessories. Confirm delivery matches project specs.
Site inspection & marking: Identify locations for units, thermostats, vents, returns, and service access points.
Permit & code compliance: Secure required permits and ensure the HVAC plan complies with local building and mechanical codes.
Installation:
Ductwork installation: Lay out and connect supply and return ducts with proper sealing and insulation to prevent air leaks.
Unit setup: Install air handler, condenser, furnace, or heat pump according to manufacturer specs and load requirements.
Thermostats & controls: Mount and wire programmable or smart thermostats in optimal locations for accurate temperature control.
Utility connections: Connect electrical wiring, refrigerant lines, condensate drains, and gas lines where applicable.
System testing: Check for airflow, pressure, leaks, and calibration to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
Finishing Touches:
Final inspection: Verify system performance, safety shutoffs, thermostat accuracy, and duct seal integrity to meet code standards.
Debris cleanup: Remove insulation scraps, duct sealant residue, and packaging to maintain a safe and clean job site.
Client handoff & instructions: Educate the client on system operation, filter replacement, and maintenance schedules for long-term performance.
