Framing

Precision framing that meets code—by Waterhouse Renovations Inc.

Planning & Design:

  • Assess the structure: Understand load-bearing walls, floor plans, and required structural support for your space.

  • Select framing type: Choose between wood or metal stud framing depending on the project scope and local building codes.

  • Blueprint alignment: Work with architects or use detailed blueprints to ensure exact framing dimensions and room layouts.

  • Budget allocation: Estimate costs for lumber, fasteners, hardware, and labor before starting the build.

Preparation:

  • Material delivery & prep: Order high-quality lumber or metal studs, and ensure materials are stored properly before use.

  • Site layout & marking: Mark wall locations, openings, doorways, and window placements based on the design.

  • Compliance check: Verify framing plans align with local building codes and secure necessary permits before construction begins.

Installation:

  • Wall framing: Construct vertical studs, top and bottom plates, and secure them to floor and ceiling joists.

  • Openings & supports: Frame windows, doors, closets, and arches with proper headers and support beams.

  • Ceiling & roof framing: If needed, frame ceiling joists, rafters, or trusses with structural accuracy.

  • Utility access planning: Leave clear routes for electrical wiring, plumbing, and HVAC during wall construction.

Finishing Touches:

  • Frame inspection: Ensure all walls are level, square, and properly anchored to meet code requirements.

  • Cleanup & debris removal: Clear sawdust, wood scraps, and fasteners from the worksite to ensure safety.

  • Handoff to next phase: Transition to insulation, drywall, or finishing teams with a precisely framed structure as the foundation.
