Planning & Design:

• Assess lighting needs: Determine the areas that need more light and decide on placement for pot lights or other fixtures.

• Choose light type: Decide on the wattage, color temperature (warm or cool), and beam angle to create the desired ambiance.

• Electrical layout: Plan for circuits, switches, and outlets, ensuring safety and accessibility.

Preparation:

• Power off the electricity: Always turn off the main power before starting any electrical work.

• Check wiring & outlets: Ensure the existing electrical wiring is up to code and can handle additional load if required.

• Mark light placement: Measure and mark where each pot light will be installed on the ceiling, considering room layout and lighting zones.

Installation:

• Drill holes for pot lights: Using a template or measurement, drill holes in the ceiling to accommodate the light fixtures.

• Run the wiring: Install new wiring for pot lights, running it from the light fixture to the main electrical panel, ensuring proper insulation and safety.

• Install pot light fixtures: Insert the fixtures into the drilled holes and secure them. Connect the wiring to the fixture as per electrical codes.

• Install switches & outlets: Place switches where they are easily accessible, ensuring compatibility with the installed lights.

• Test the system: Turn on the power and test each pot light to ensure it functions properly.

• Adjust angles: Adjust the direction of the pot lights for even and effective illumination.

• Clean up & finalize: Neatly tuck in any exposed wiring, and check the entire installation for safety before finishing.
