Drywall & Plaster
Create smooth, seamless walls and ceilings with professional drywall and plaster services.
Planning & Preparation:
Assess the area: Determine the amount of drywall or plaster required based on the room’s size and layout.
Choose materials: Select between standard drywall, moisture-resistant drywall, or plaster, based on the room’s needs (e.g., bathroom vs. living room).
Prepare the surface: Remove old materials, clean the wall studs, and ensure the surface is level and dry before installation.
Installation:
Cut drywall sheets: Measure and cut drywall to fit the dimensions of the wall or ceiling, leaving a slight gap from the floor to prevent moisture damage.
Hang drywall sheets: Secure drywall to the studs using screws or nails, ensuring the seams are aligned properly.
Plaster application (if needed): Apply plaster over drywall for a smooth, seamless finish, or use it for a decorative textured look.
Tape the seams: Use drywall tape to cover seams and edges, applying a thin layer of joint compound over the tape to seal and smooth the surface.
Finishing Touches:
Apply joint compound: Spread joint compound over the taped seams and screw holes, then allow it to dry before sanding smooth.
Sand the surface: Sand the joint compound to a smooth, even finish, ensuring no bumps or imperfections.
Final coat of plaster or joint compound: Apply a final smooth coat of plaster or joint compound to ensure a flawless finish.
Prime and paint: Once dry, apply primer and paint for a finished look, or leave the plaster for a natural aesthetic.
Cleanup & Inspection:
Inspect for smoothness: Check the surface for any imperfections or rough spots that may need additional smoothing or sanding.
Clean up debris: Remove all dust, debris, and unused materials from the area to maintain a clean workspace.
Touch-up: Make any final adjustments, ensuring all edges and corners are neat and well-finished.
